IEC61400-5 Reached for the We4Ce Bushing Solution

The IEC 61400-5:2020 standard specifies requirements to ensure the engineering integrity of wind turbine blades as well as an appropriate level of operational safety throughout the design lifetime.
Within the M.A.R.S. project, a next milestone is reached for the M36 We4Ce bushing solution.
A close co-operation between certification body TÜV-Nord and We4Ce resulted in the confirmation of the engineering values for the bushing shear-out-strength conform the IEC61400-5 standard.
Although this new design standard was still on the FDIS (Final Draft International Standard) level, this did not withhold We4Ce in relating the bushing tests and characteristic strengths with the IEC61400-5.
With this, We4Ce is the first independent rotor blade specialist to have the IEC61400-5 in place for the blade root connection.
The emperical connection type that is suitable for limited root dimensions is now fullfilling GL2010, DNVGL-ST-0376 and IEC61400-5 and with that offers Wind-Energy an independend confirmation of the safety level.
